Ronald Dotson has been teaching at West Valley College since 1996, during which time he has taught Music Appreciation, Theory, Fundamentals, Symphonic Band, Beginning Piano, and was conductor of the West Valley Symphony. He currently teaches World Music and History of Rock and Roll courses, as well as Applied viola lessons.
He received his education at San Jose State University, Stony Brook University, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning degrees in viola performance and music history/musicology. He has previously taught at Stony Brook, the University of Hawaii, and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Liberal Arts at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga.
